Submitted by NoFiction on Mon, 07/12/2010 - 10:14

Back with another triple for you this week;
POLKA PARTY
Over to a man who knows to introduce them to you:
“Polka Party, who I went to see the other week, turned up, quite late as they had been stuck in traffic I think, came up with the best opening gambit, the best first line I think I’ve heard on stage for a very long time. The singer got up on stage and went, *sniff* , “sorry I’m late……… I’ve got a cold”. And from then on, I loved them.”- Steve Lamacq BBC 6Music
We say; Post punk done right without any of the stay-in-bed lethargy surrounding the Hoxton scene.
ROSS AND THE WRONGENS
In addition to having a name that makes me smile every time I hear it (I'm easily pleased I know,) efestivals picture gallery of the Camden Crawl 2010 has the band between ROLO TOMASSI and the SUGABABES... now that's the kind of sandwich I'm talking.
DEAD SOCIAL CLUB
Self describe as "indie with heavy doses of electronica and new wave and the band have recently had some airplay on BBC 6Music, French Radio." Plus we heard one time they fought off ten ninjas and it was well sick.
All this and all the usual treats for your feet from the No Fiction resident DJs (Think tracks by O. Children, The Dead Weather, Japan, Interpol, AutoKratz, Talking Heads, Battles with an all out no prisoners disco to close.)
